A new course for SCRA - filling an identified niche in a suite of courses improving the capacity of Rangers to provide a range of effective and engaging presentations, indoors and out.
This is a foundation level course, specifically for beginners with no, or little, experience in delivering talks, and/or guided walks, or those who would just like to learn more. It is about building confidence and practicing skills in developing presentations that are – sharp, on message, provoking and memorable for all the right reasons, and in a supportive environment.
Benefits of attending
As a participant you will benefit from:
- Learning and putting into practice some basic principles in the delivery of presentations, in a supportive setting;
- time to reflect on your own and others' presentations - settings, content, delivery and style, and learning from others;
- time to consider the different options and technology available - where they may aid or hinder communication;
- being prepared for anything & everything;
- collecting portfolio evidence meeting competencies at foundation level, in sections G3 Communications and S5 Outdoor Learning and Interpretation in the new SCRA CPD programme, to be launched in March 2012.
SCRA has brought in the StepAHEAD Associates team (Lynnette Borradaile, Ruth Grant and Callum McNeill-Ritchie) to facilitate this course. The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority are providing support for delivery of the course and SNH are providing financial assistance. |
