Leading Edge Workshop, March 6th 2008
Details now announced! An exciting event with SCRA and Historic Scotland...
"Cultural Heritage is of increasing importance to Rangers; from government policy through to the outcomes of the Ranger Review, there is an ambition that the natural and cultural heritage of Scotland needs to be more closely linked in both its management and its interpretation.
Cultural Heritage is all around us; from the plants that mankind has used over time, to the landscapes that he has influenced and changed. As Rangers, whenever we are outside, be it a guided walk, an educational session, or simply learning about our environment, the effects of our Cultural Heritage are all around us. Many are very obvious; for example our rich built heritage and diverse landscapes, but many lie hidden to the uneducated eye and knowing what to look for and how to recognise it leads to a greater understanding of our environment, as well as a wider repertoire of material for us to interpret through many mediums, to visitors to the outdoors."

Getting to the venue;
Parking is limited near the venue and unless by prior arrangement is not available. There are ample parking opportunities a short distance away, but Edinburgh parking is quite expensive. (And Edinburgh driving confusing at best!) SCRA recommend that public transport is used as much as possible. There are good park and ride (bus and train) facilities approaching Edinburgh from all directions and we would recommend use of these if us of public transport is not possible for any reason.
A map is available here which gives details of public transport access to the venue. In terms of times, Edinburgh Waverly is about a 10 minute brisk stroll to the venue.
