The Scottish Countryside Rangers Association (SCRA) is the professional membership association for Countryside Rangers and associated countryside professionals in Scotland

Formed in 1974, SCRA has an enviable reputation for supporting the development and enhancement of the Ranger profession in Scotland; organising networking events, training events and conferences, supporting the development of a national logo and brand for Scotland's Ranger Services and working with Government and Government agencies to promote the profession.

Rangers promote the enjoyment, understanding and care of Scotland's outdoors through;

  • The first hand provision of information, advice and activities
  • Interpretation
  • The management of sites and facilities
  • Seeking to secure responsible behaviour

As of May 2012 we have introduced a system to allow members to get a monthly update by email. This update will include news items relevant to SCRA, forthcoming events, and a round-up of forum activity. This means that the news is coming to you, rather than you needing to search for it, or remember to visit the site.

This email alert is sent automatically to current members on the 15th of each month and if you have any information that you would like to send out to other members please contact us and it can be included in the next mailing. If there is sufficient demand we can make an online submission available to make life even easier to submit information.

We hope that this makes SCRA's website even more useful and will encourage you to get more involved (or at least keep abreast of the latest goings on). We are also looking at the possibility of 'feeding' some of this information to the facebook page, but we need to work out how to keep 'members only' information for members only... which may not be possible!
