The Sand Dune and Shingle Network, based at Liverpool Hope University, aims to conserve sand dunes and shingle as dynamic landscapes.
Formed in 1974, SCRA has an enviable reputation for supporting the development and enhancement of the Ranger profession in Scotland; organising networking events, training events and conferences, supporting the development of a national logo and brand for Scotland's Ranger Services and working with Government and Government agencies to promote the profession.

The RSPB is organising a nature festival called the Scottish Birdfair. The event will take place the 11th and 12th May 2013, in South Queensferry, Edinburgh, and its attractions include talks focused on conservation issues from celebrity speakers, insightful walks, seabird cruises, and more.

Scottish Natural Heritage have published guidance on applying for funds as a ranger service - with the deadline for applying for 2013 funding being 14th September 2012.
SCRA has brought in Elaine Rainey, Development Officer at Scottish Badgers to run a series of Regional courses over the next two years.
The first courses will take place in Aberdeenshire and Strathclyde in October and one in the Lothians in March 2013. Two more courses will be held in Highlands and Perthshire area in 2013/2014.

As of May 2012 we have introduced a system to allow members to get a monthly update by email. This update will include news items relevant to SCRA, forthcoming events, and a round-up of forum activity.
